Smith’s CT-8 Cleaner & Toughener is a dual purpose concentrated powder detergent designed for the preparation of exterior textured concrete surfaces to receive Smith’s Decorative Concrete Products including Smith’s Color Floor., Color Wall and Color Accents.  Initially, Smith’s CT-8 acts as a detergent to clean the concrete surface.  Secondly, Smith’s CT-8 toughens the surface of the concrete by interacting with weak spots created by un-reacted calcium hydroxide. 

On interior concrete slabs, Smith’s CT-8 is a high alkalinity powder used for heavy-duty degreasing as well as a neutralizing treatment to raise low pH levels on concrete substrates, such as battery charging areas, etc.  Secondly, Smith’s CT-8 toughens the surface of the concrete by interacting with weak spots created by un-reacted calcium hydroxide, to reduce surface dusting.
